Kaspiysk 2018 (Russian: Каспи́йск 2018) is a bid by Kaspiysk and the Russian Olympic Committee for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

Kaspiysk is located in Dagestan. The Dagestan region submitted a bid to the Russian Olympic Committee in December 2011, seeking their endorsement in submitting the bid to the IOC. [1] The Russian Olympic Committee gave the bid its support shortly after they received the bid. [2] [3]The needed venues would need to be built since the area lacks the needed venues. In December 2011 it was determined that Kaspiysk would be the city where the games are staged if the bid is successful. [4]
Moscow which hosted the 1980 Summer Olympics bid to host the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics but lost to Singapore. Prior to hosting the 1980 Summer Olympics, Moscow bid for the 1976 Summer Olympics and lost to Montreal. More recently, Moscow placed a bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics but lost to London. St. Petersburg bid for the 2004 Summer Olympics but failed to become a candidate city. The 2004 Games were awarded to Athens. Sochi was awarded the 2014 Winter Olympics in 2007. Sochi first bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics and failed to become a candidate. The 2002 Games were ultimately awarded to Salt Lake City.
